In a bid to improve the quality of education of the students of Ogedengbe High School of Sciences, Ilesa, Osun state, Huawei Technologies company Nigeria limited, in partnership with the former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, made provision of educational resources, science laboratories and internally generated electricity to the school.
Gracing the auspicious Edu-resource donation event, dignitaries like Minister, Osun State Speaker, Timothy Owoeye, the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Pius Akinyelure, and the Executive and Management body of Huawei Technologies, Managing Director, Mr. Eric Zhang Lulu and the Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Kelvin Yangyang, and others, were present at the occasion.
Rauf Aregbesola in his speech highlighted and laid emphasis on the integral role of education and science and technology plays in the growth and development of any society. He also addressed the contribution of Huawei to Nigeria as a ‘global tech giant’ and a ‘trustworthy ICT partner’ with its innovative technologies, knowledge transfer, talent training, CSR activities, etc. And on a final note, he promised continuity in their work relationship with Huawei in a bid to improve a lot of Nigerian citizens.
Huawei Technologies in compliance with its fulfillment of corporate social responsibility has started some projects for the school: reequipping the school’s laboratories with electrical materials, demonstration platforms, water and sanitation facilities and a host of other educational technologies in the classroom setting which would undoubtedly affect the quality of learners’ learning.
