I haven’t done a very comprehensive Huawei phone review until now, but with the release of this P40 Pro+ Plus, I feel I would be doing a disservice to you our readers if I didn’t do a Huawei P40 Pro+ Price in Nigeria and complete review and specs.
Huawei remains one of the leading smartphone brands in Nigeria, and it has started to target the top range of the market with its smartphones in recent months. The company hasn’t been able to get as good a hold on the middle to lower range of the market as Tecno, Infinix, Itel, and Gionee. Even Samsung and Xiaomi have been releasing smartphones in this range of the market, and I must tell you, seeing these manufacturers endlessly push out smartphones targeting that middle to lower range of the African market is cool.
Let’s double-down, and do an actual review of the Huawei P40 Pro+, and see some of the features that come with the device and just what you can expect to get from this new Huawei phone.

A complete Strip-down of the Huawei P40 Pro+ Plus
From a first-look of the Huawei P40 Pro+, I think the device comes with just so many interesting features. From having a completely amazing camera; having 5 cameras on the rear to having dual cameras on the front. The Huawei P40 Pro+ is one device I think will get a chance to break into the middle to upper range of the market and still get a lot of acceptance.
Let’s take a look at every other angle of this smartphone and see just how much you get for your bucks.
The camera is the main thing you get from this smartphone. And as is our custom that is the first feature we will be looking at.
On the rear, the Huawei P40 Pro+ sports five cameras. A 50MP Ultra vision camera, a 40MP Cine Camera, 8MP SuperZoom Camera, 8MP Telephoto Camera, and a 3D depth-sensing camera. You also get features like image stabilization, Autofocus, Zoom mode, 4K Video recording at 60fps, image resolution of up to 8192X6144 pixels, and video resolution of 3840X2160 pixels.
On the front, the Huawei P40 Pro+ comes with a 32MP selfie camera and a depth camera. The front camera also sports 4K video recording capability of 3840 X 2160 pixels at 60fps. The image resolution of the front camera is clocked at 6528 X 4896 pixels, while the video resolution is clocked at the same 3840 X 2160 pixels. I can’t forget that the front camera comes with support for face unlock with IR.

Other features that you get with the camera is a 100X super zoom feature, which allows you to catch even the smallest of details and still get as good and amazing picture quality as possible. The Ultra-wide cine camera on the front means you’d be able to take amazing pictures and videos both in lowlights and slow motion. You also get 4K time-lapse video, telephoto video, and powerful bokeh effects.
The camera is the first thing you will notice on the Huawei P40 Pro+, and it sure is the most powerful standalone feature of this smartphone. Let’s talk about the next, almost-as-powerful feature, the memory.
Huawei P40 Pro+ Memory review
On this smartphone, you can expect to get 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Now, I must confess that this is the first device in this range that will be having this powerful internal storage.
On the memory side, we were able to play super cool RPG and other high-graphic games non-stop, and it sure didn’t have issues with lagging or anything. I enjoyed how easy it was to multitask with the Huawei P40 Pro+, and it sure was seamless from start to finish.
In addition to the very powerful internal storage option, this device also comes with support for an external SD card of up to 256GB. So in total, you’d be able to get over 700GB. Can you imagine just what that can carry? I’d love you to share in the comments if this memory is the best feature for you? Because it’s looking like it’ll be mine.
My review of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G and Price in Nigeria.
Huawei P40 Pro+ comes with a 4200mAh battery. I’d say that’s pretty cool, seeing the features we get with the device. On our test, the device was able to run non-stop for around 18 hours. I’d give it a pass considering the way we tested the smartphone.
We played our usual games for hours, watched and stream movies and videos on YouTube and Netflix, and we streamed music online. The internet was left ON throughout this process and we tried as much as possible to make the device work to its limit. I just loved that it could power us for that long, but you want to remember that these devices don’t maintain the same battery life over time. So you could get a good battery life on your first few weeks or months of use, but ultimately, you shouldn’t expect that same performance for a long time.
The CPU is touted to bring better power efficiency, while the AI power allocation technology is expected to make the device perform better and work longer. I won’t comment on the CPU yet, but I liked the fact that the smartphone didn’t overheat as I would expect all though our test.
Other features you get with this battery is a 40W Wireless Supercharge, 40W Supercharge, 27W Wireless car charger and Reverse Charge. All of these contributed to giving us a super-fast charging speed, and seamless recharging wherever you may be.
It took around 1 hour 14 minutes to have the battery recharged from 0 to 100 percent on our test, so I can say that’s a pass and a great feature for people who are always on the move.

Under the hood (Software review)
Now, this device comes with a Kirin 990 5G chipset. This is like the first 5G enabled smartphone around, and it sure is an amazing deal. You also get 7nm+ EUV technology, Mali-G76 MC16 GPU graphics rating.
This service didn’t overheat on our test, I love the power management, the system fluidity, and its image processing capability, which is a thing. I mean, the face unlock was super-fast, and we didn’t have issues having the fingerprint sensor unlock the device.
On the gaming front, I believed that both the RAM, CPU, and battery are to get thumbs up.
The gaming experience was top-notch as the device is a full-screen bezel-less device, which meant gaming was well supported. The smartphone’s better image frames helped to get a lot of realistic graphics improvements. The display is clocked at 90HZ, the game plays at 90fps, and it comes with a 4-in-1 hybrid Supercool system that takes care of overheating.
The Huawei P40 Pro+ comes with a 6.58 inches OLED screen, with 16.7 million colors. The screen refreshes at up to 90Hz, and it sports a 2640 x 1200 pixels resolution. This screen gave super-immersive views, so we didn’t have issues controlling games and watching our movies as the screen was also very responsive to touch.
