A stripdown of my best hard surface gaming mouse pads

I will be reviewing each of these gaming mouse pads, and I’ll try to share as much detail as possible about each. These reviews will emphasize more on the ease of using these gaming mouse pads, for both gaming, and everyday home and office computer usage.

Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad Review

Probably the most popular hard surface gaming mouse pad out there, the Logitech G440 sports low surface friction, giving you a very high dpi gaming. This is because a hard surface can improve the cursor and mouse control when you’re playing a high-speed game. I loved how this gaming mouse gives precise tracking and aiming.

One of the best things about owning a hard surface gaming mouse pad is that you will not have to worry too much when you spill things on it. Durability is also something you can expect.

On things I didn’t like, while this is marketed as a “hard” gaming mouse, there is still a little flexibility. The end of the pad was also a bit sharp, and the rubber under it doesn’t stick on some surfaces.

Vaydeer Metal Gaming Mouse Pad Review

This aluminum metal mouse pad was designed to work with most gaming mice on the market. I was able to use my laser, optical and mechanical mice and they performed seamlessly.

The leather is tightly bonded, and the mouse pad didn’t give off an unpleasant smell. It’s one sturdy, thin gaming mouse pad that is perfect for even everyday use. If you choose to use this on either a bed or sofa, you get a solid flat mouse pad which provides as much accuracy as you will get on a desk.

The ease of cleaning and its durability is something that I will point out again.

Razer Sphex V2 Gaming Mouse Pad Review

If you are playing any kind of shooter game, and you want to raise your accuracy without breaking your shoulder, the Razer Sphex V2 is an amazing option. While it isn’t as hard as a metal or aluminum mouse pad, it is thin, semi-hard (a little flexible) but works well on all surfaces.

I loved that it was very sleek, I didn’t experience any type of drag or resistance while gaming.  Depending on the brand of mouse you’re using, you can calibrate your mouse to work with this gaming mouse pad with ease.

I liked that it has a very adhesive bottom, so having it remain stuck to my gaming desk top and it’s not displacing as I swipe to and fro is just really cool.

On something I didn’t like, this gaming mouse pad bottom collects dust after some time.

Qcute Gaming Mouse Pad Review

I loved how this mouse was very easy to clean. It performed well with my Harbour 7 USB gaming mouse. If you have a smaller gaming setup, and you wouldn’t mind having a gaming mouse that is a little smaller, Qcute is a great fit.

This mouse pad is pretty thin, sporting rounded edges. So after hours of gaming, I didn’t experience scratches or pains of any kind. The mouse pad keeps the wrist in a pretty comfortable angle, and it is soothing to the wrist. Since it’s a metal mouse, you don’t have to worry about breakages when it drops or gets stains either by dirt or spills.

I noticed that the pad produces scratching noises because, since it’s a piece of metal, it doesn’t stick to the table as strongly as you would expect.

SteelSeries QcK Gaming Mouse Pad Review

The SteelSeries QcK gaming mouse pad is very thick and comfortable to use. I also loved the size as I was able to enjoy FPS games that required low sensitivity. I loved that the edges are solid and it sticks well to the gaming desk.

The mouse pad doesn’t break when dropped, it can also be washed when you spill or stain it.

The glide from this gaming mouse pad was too much though, as I found it very hard to get great precision in higher intensity games. These quick movements resulted in a very noisy mouse movement.

After some weeks using this mouse pad, I noticed that the most heavily used areas started to turn white. While this doesn’t have any effect on the mouse, I just didn’t like that it changed the look of the gaming mouse pad.

So those are my best hard surface gaming mouse pads. I might not be a daily user of these hard surface mouse pads. But from my test, these are the ones I think provide the best value for money out there. I’d love to hear from you, so drop your thoughts in the comments below.
