Best 4K Monitor For Console Gaming
Acer Predator 32-inch 144Hz 4ms – Best 32-inch 4K Monitor for Console Gaming
The Acer Predator XB321HK is a 32 inches, 3840 x 2160 gaming monitor. The monitor comes with two speakers out-of-the-box, four USB 3.0 ports, and an HDMI and a DisplayPort. The monitor comes with a 144Hz refresh rate which can be upgraded to 165Hz using the DisplayPort.
You can expect to see a remarkable difference when using the Acer Predator XB321HK, especially if you’re using a 4K gaming monitor for the first time. I loved how much detail I was able to see in games, I was able to see the texture of the fabrics on the Witcher 3 clearly, and even the wrinkles on Geralt’s face. If you are playing on an Xbox One X, PS4, PS4 Pro, or even the PS5 gaming consoles, then this is one of the best choices you can get on the market.
On the hardware, the Acer Predator XB321HK feels strong, and the build looks solid. It also sports that gamey feel, which is something you’d love if you’re a pro gamer. Of all the monitors on this list, the Acer Predator XB321HK remains both the best 4K monitor for console gaming and the best 32-inch 4K monitor for console gaming. It beats all other options on our list hands down.
BenQ EL2870U 28-inch 4K Monitor for Gaming 1ms – Best 4K HDR Monitor for Console Gaming
The BenQ EL2870U is one high-quality gaming monitor that comes with everything your PS4, PS4 Pro, and Xbox One and One X support.
The color and picture quality was superb for a gaming monitor with 28 inches display. You get more depth, seeing details that you wouldn’t otherwise see on other gaming monitors that aren’t 4K. I played the new Age of Empires II on this monitor, and I can’t better explain just how mesmerizing the experience was. You could see how saturated and natural the colors were.
While the speakers aren’t the loudest you’ll find out there, they work well, the sound quality that they produce was also pretty great. Setting up the monitor was seamless, the onscreen settings weren’t the best in my opinion, but it was pretty detailed and easy to navigate.
The monitor comes with a VESA mount support, so if you decide to have it hanged, either on the wall or on a monitor stand, you shouldn’t have issues.
Philips 276E8VJSB 27-inch Monitor, 4K UHD IPS, 75Hz- Best Budget 4K Monitor for Console Gaming
The Philips 276E8VJSB is one of the best budget 4K monitors for console gaming you’ll be able to find on the market. It’s cheaper, which means it doesn’t have a lot of the many features that make others pricier. It comes with a 4K display, which produces superb video, picture quality, and great depth.
Gaming with the Philips 276E8VJSB was great, the vibrant colors did make up for the imperfections we had on the resolutions front. Even from a distance, everything still looks beautiful and pristine. It also comes with a little curve, which is something you’d easily notice if you are coming from a curved gaming monitor.
The curve works well for protecting your eyes and helping you avoid eye strains and headaches, so marathon gaming shouldn’t always cause you harm, although it’s still recommended to take a walk away from gaming every now and then.
The Philips 276E8VJSB is pretty bright, it also comes with settings to easily adjust the display settings to fit your preference. The monitor also comes with two loudspeakers that are loud enough, at least for a medium-size room. I almost always have to raise my voice to be heard with this speaker turned on. The sound was pretty clear, didn’t notice any kind of distortions.
Overall, I loved the build of the Philips 276E8VJSB. Tilting was an issue for me though, as I didn’t think it comes with a lot of freedom. I also noticed that it doesn’t have an easily assessable VESA mount, so you would have to open the back of the monitor, which is a more technical route to go. But overall, the Philips 276E8VJSB is one of the best budget 4K monitors for console gaming you will find on the market.
LG 27UL650-W 27-inch 5ms 4K UHD IPS LED HDR 10 Monitor with VESA – Best 4K Monitor for Competitive Console Gaming
If you are looking for a good 4K monitor for Xbox One X, then here is probably one you shouldn’t miss out on. You get crisp 4K, amazing contrast levels, and super brilliant color and picture quality. The HDR makes every single one of the characters look their best.
One of the best features of the monitor is its onscreen notification when you are using the HDR. The gaming monitor comes with 4 different HDR modes. There is the HDR Vivid, HDR Game, HDR Standard, and HDR Cinema. So you should be able to use the monitor for things other than gaming. The side bezels were almost non-existent, which is one remarkable thing about the monitor.
When playing games like FIFA, and Tomb Raider, I tried to keep the mode at HDR Game. This delivered the most accurate colors and response time. The main explanation for why the contrast levels and brightness is phenomenal is the IPS panel.
Its build makes it one of the most ergonomic gaming monitors, as it swivels, tilts, and can be used in portrait mode. It comes with a 178-degree viewing angle, the stand is adjustable, so you can always set it to the height that’s best for your setup. I should also add that the monitor comes with support for VESA. So you should be able to mount in on either a monitor stand or on a wall.
Overall, the LG 27UL650-W deserves a place on this list and a shot at being the best 4K monitor for console gaming for coming with a lot of improvements, both in sound quality, picture and video quality, ergonomics support and the quality of the build.
LG 24UD58-B 24-Inch 5ms 4K UHD IPS Monitor
The LG 24UD58-B handles my games very well. The monitor display is clear, sharp, and very dependable. It also comes with a hidden joystick on the center-right corner of the monitor for controlling and navigating through the menu and settings. I played games like Far Cry 5, Dirt Rally 2.0, The Witcher 3, and FIFA on my PS4 console using this monitor and it was superb. I didn’t notice any dead pixels, there was no backlight bleeding and the refresh rate and response time were excellent.
The LG 24UD58-B comes with a pretty high DPI on an IPS panel. It’s not an HDR monitor, but I think the backlights are just fine. The build of the monitor looks solid, it’s sturdy, and for its price, is one of the best quality you can get on the market.
You also get features like FreeSync, On-Screen Control with screen split, game mode and black stabilizer, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and one DisplayPort.
Overall, the LG 24UD58-B does a great job if you’re looking for a good 4K monitor for competitive console gaming. It comes with amazing quality in the color and picture department.
LG 27UK850-W 27-inch 5ms 4K UHD IPS Monitor – The Best 4K Monitor for Console Gaming
The first gaming console I used this 4K monitor with was the Xbox One X, and the screen quality was just perfect out of the box. The LG 27UK850-W is solidly built, sturdy, and with pretty healthy response time and refresh rate of 60Hz. I didn’t experience any kind of lags when playing FPS games, the IPS glow was pretty minimal, and it sports support for HDR.
The screen was crispy, the color and picture quality it produced was top-notch, and gameplay on a 4K monitor was just superb. You’d see more in-game details – details you’d probably not see without a high-quality 4K gaming monitor. I tried gaming with other consoles and a PC, and they all performed well, with no screen tearing, no dead pixels, and no bleeding screen.
You will be getting support for a couple of USB connections on the back of the monitor, so if you’d like to game with a webcam, they always come handy. You also get built-in speakers with this monitor, and while it’s great as a feature, I wouldn’t say the sound was as good as you would expect.
There is a setting to control the display, color quality, contrast, and even the brightness of the screen. So you should be able to customize the monitor to fit your gaming setup.
While it allows you tilt, it doesn’t support swivel or height adjustments. Overall, for its price, and a couple of interesting features that come with the LG 27UK850-W, I think it’s a sure contender for which of these the best 4K monitor for console gaming will be.
