Tecno Spark 4 users got news about the expected upgrade of their devices to Android 10 update, with many of them having screenshots of a request by Tecno to make the needed upgrade to android 10.
The company has been pretty pumped up to release the Android 10 update since its release back September 2019, but will the company be releasing the android 10 on a device that isn’t even one of the devices on its flagship list?
Users in Nigeria, India and even Kenya were spoken to, and repeatedly, we noticed a common trend, if the company plans to have the Tecno Spark 4 run the latest android 10, chances are that it will be releasing the Tecno Camon 15 with popup camera first before even thinking of running the android 10 updates on older model devices.
So since the company plans to release the Camon 15 by March, we can expect the over-the-air release of the Android 10 update on the Tecno spark 4 to come sometime in April. (Tecno Spark 4 Price in Nigeria)
Should you upgrade to Tecno spark 4 android 10?
Another question on the lips of many customers is if they should even make the upgrade if presented the opportunity. While many manufacturers are already rolling out this upgrade to consumers, it’s often found to be higher-level devices running on RAMs of 4GB and above. The Tecno Spark 4 features 2.0 GHz processor speed, 2GB RAM and 32 GB ROM. (Tecno Spark 4 Price in Nigeria).
Running an update as advanced as the newly released Android 10 update on your Tecno Spark 4 might not be as wise as possible, as you’d be forcing the device to run much more that it has been designed and specked to run.

The screen seems to be a focus for the Spark 4 smartphone. The company went with a 6.52 inches Dot Notch display, with the Notch housing the front camera. This is pretty large, with the main difference between this screen and the recently released Spark 5 being very slim (Spark 5 is 6.6 inches). I got a pretty clear view from all angles, and I loved the color depth and the image quality. Gaming on the Spark 4 was also really easy and fun with the screen. It was super responsive.
The Camera was also really dope. The rear camera comes with three camera lenses with the main one being a 13MP AI camera. On the front, the Spark 4 houses an 8MP camera. Features like the bokeh effect, AI portrait modes, AI Camera 2.0, AI HDR, AI Scene detection all add to the amazing picture quality on the Spark 4. I noticed that it automatically detected the scene and adjusted the camera accordingly. In the dark, the device managed to take great pictures, and there was nothing like overexposure to light.
Memory Battery Review
While I’m no fan of 2GB RAM devices that are coming out in 2020, with Android 9.0+, I think the Spark 4 deserves a chance. Under the hood, the smartphone sports a 2.0GHz Quad-Core processor and a battery that’s clocked at 4000mAh. Lest I forget, the device also sports a 32GB internal storage.
How did the Spark 4 perform under my test?
Well, I always use high-graphic, powerful games to test most of my devices, because I believe that – that the easiest way to stretch a device to the limit. With 2GB RAM, you could easily tell that the device struggled with lagging and a buggy-feel on powerful games, it also couldn’t multitask well as it was closing my apps after a couple of minutes.
On the battery front, the battery carried me for 18hrs on extreme use of the device. I played powerful online games, watched movies both on Netflix and YouTube (all streamed) and I streamed music on Boomplay. I think it didn’t perform too badly on the battery front, I mean, that’s not how the regular user would use it every day, but if you choose to, you can trust that the device will carry you.
As for the processor, the device got to a point where it started to overheat after I nearly sniffed life out of it. But one thing I sure loved about the processor was that it was power efficient. The Spark 4 comes out of the box with Android 9 Pie based on HiOS 5.5, but as you already know, upgrading to Android 10 is now possible.
You also get the Fingerprint and face unlock security features. You just have to record your face information, and over time, the device better learns and understands your face, so that even if you close your eyes, the smartphone’s “Closed Eyes Detection” can easily detect and understand your facial structure.
