Verizon Wireless has just announced that the Samsung Fascinate will be available in their online store on September 8th, and in stores on September 9th. The phone will be available for $199 after a $100 mail in rebate and a new 2 year contract. Check out the full press release inside.

Alright guys, we managed to get our hands on the all new Motorola Droid 2 a few days after launch and we have to say that it definitely improves on some faults with the original Motorola Droid. Check our our unboxing video at the bottom of the post to see it in action. The Motorola Droid 2 keeps some things the same as the original Droid and some needed changes grace the device as well. The Droid 2 retains the same 3.7 inch WVGA display as previous model as well as the same camera and camcorder quality. What has improved, is the faster processor, more on-board memory, as well as a better keyboard and improved battery life, not to mention that it is the first U.S. device to come pre-stock with Android 2.2 operating system with flash 10.1.

My Droid 2 finally got the notification today to update to Froyo 2.2.20. The update came a week after the official release and issues Verizon had deploying the software update. The update is very small at only 3.7mb but addresses the following issues:

• Enabled text and picture message scrolling.
• Streamlined set up of Visual Voice Mail feature.
• Improved contact sync with Corporate Exchange categories
• and groups.
• View accurate contact pictures when reviewing Recent Call Log.

Apparently there is are alleged pictures showing looks like a leaked over-the-air update to Froyo that Verizon and Motorola plan on releasing to customers in the near future. Droid X customers have been waiting Android 2.2 update to deliver for such things like true Adobe Flash 10.1 support, improved battery life, and just faster performance all round.
The seems to be an rooted and unrooted version available online not directly from Motorola or Verizon, we would recommend waiting for official releases in fear of bricking your device, but if you are feeling adventurous than good luck to you and share in comments below your success or failures.

This rumor might actually be more believable than the rumors that the iPhone was going to Verizon. One main reason being that T-Mobile’s network is already a GSM network and Verizon’s wasn’t so the iPhone would not have to change drastically to connect to their network. A reason that the iPhone was not logical on Verizon’s network is because the phone design would have to change to support a CDMA network while GSM is already an international standard. According to CultofMac their source says that the iPhone coming to T-Moblie has an 80% chance to happen in Q3.

Today, a rumor has surfaced from DigiTimes that a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 is due to be shipped to Apple in the fourth quarter of this year. Now I personally do not believe in this rumor because Verizon had previously announced that they had no plan at this time to offer Apple products. Although the actual quote was:

Verizon Has No Plans for Apple Support in the “Immediate Future

Lets look at “Immediate Future” you know that could have been a hint that the Verizon iPhone is coming just not yet. Well in the fourth quarter when the rumor states the iPhone will ship, could be just the right time to announce a Verizon iPhone 4 before the holiday season. As anticipation increases before the Motorola Droid 2 phone releases, there are videos and pictures leaking which display the phone. The first leak was the Droid 2 activation screen captured by Droid-Life. This was a very blurry image of the phone on the initial activation screen.
