Foursquare the popular new social networking site has updated their Twitter status. The company is currently looking for College Reps to help spread the Foursquare word. No details on exactly what the job entails but if you’re interested head on over. Check out what they said below:

We have all been watching Geohot for the upcoming iPhone 4 jailbreak but he might be beat by Musclenerd. He has updated his Twitter status to let us know he is very close to an iPhone 4 jailbreak. This is actually progress towards the carrier unlock which required a lot more work than before. Take a look at the pics below:

On Geohot’s twitter account he reports that he is not yet working on the next jailbreak for iOS 4 as of yet.

The recent news of a jailbreak that might have been coming to iOS 4 came from his presentation at Nuit Du Hack in Paris. Well, here’s to hoping that he will work on the jailbreak for iOS 4 on the iPhone 4 soon, so stop bothering him!

If you rely on twitter for you daily fix then today is not a good day for you. According to twitter status [Site is part of twitter] the site is experiencing some problems.

We had a system-side issue this morning starting around 0800 Pacific that resulted in  twitter.com experiencing two 30 minute back-to-back incidents over roughly one hour.  The problem has largely been addressed, but we aren’t quite to 100 percent yet.

Do not panic, most of the users will see over capacity errors. Twitter is renowned for its famous capacity errors. Due to rapidly expanding user base, these errors are getting quite common. Hopefully, the engineering’s will fix the problem soon. In the meantime, try Google Buzz, watch some movie, or do something else. Better yet, start reading your RSS feeds.

Today Twitter announced on their blog an upcoming change to their Terms of Service. The change in their service will not allow anyone to promote paid tweets through the Twitter API.

aside from Promoted Tweets, we will not allow any third party to inject paid tweets into a timeline on any service that leverages the Twitter API.

Twitter had announced previously that they will be releasing a “Promoted Tweets” platform for advertisers that will be non- intrusive and will always be relevant to the Twitter timeline. This action taken by Twitter could be a hard hit for small publishers that relied on the paid tweets that will be blocked shortly. Depending on how expensive the Twitter Promoted Tweets will be this will show us whether or not Promoted Tweets will be good for the little guy or not. I have contacted Twitter for comment.

With Facebook on the Xbox 360 you are able to Update your status right from the comfort of your own couch or chair or bed!  You can also view friends status updates, view photos in full screen on your television. You can also check to see which friends of yours are also using Facebook on the Xbox 360.

With Last.FM on the Xbox 360, you can listen to all of your favorite songs right from your Xbox 360. Last.FM streams over 3.5 millions songs right to your Xbox. With Last.FM you are able to check your friends playlists. Last.FM allows you to create your own custom radio station (Pandora?). After listening to a song you just vote either thumbs up or thumbs down. Last.FM will only be available to those Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

Twitter comes to the Xbox 360, with Twitter on the 360 you can view all of your friends status updates right from the comfort of your television. You can also update your status and view all of the trending topics on Twitter.

Zune

Zune on the Xbox 360

All of your favorite movies in full 1080p High Definition come to the Xbox 360 with the Microsoft Zune service.  Gold Subscribers will be able to rent and stream movies from the Zune service, with a Netflix like feel. Zune is nice because it is the only service that offers the 1080p, Netflix only currently offers 480p in their streaming service  which I hope they will update soon.

For all of you that are looking forward to this update, it will add a lot more functionality to the Xbox and again makes it worth the $50 a year for the Xbox Live subscription.
