iTunes to rent entire TV shows for $1

9to5Mac reports that soon iTunes may be renting full length TV shows for $1 a month. So you can subscribe to a show for a year for only $12. If iTunes actually implements this feature I believe that many people may pay for it. Although, Netflix would be its biggest competitor but you can only purchase the shows that you want instead of the monthly fee that Netflix has.Apple already has a movie rental service through iTunes so it would just be supplemented with TV show rentals at a cheaper price. Now word yet on whether there will be differing prices for standard definition or high definition video. More information at the source.

Apple responds to iTunes fraud

Over the weekend many users found that their iTunes accounts had been used to purchase items without their knowledge. The items that were purchased were from a developer named Thuat Nguyen and were books published by him.Apple told Engadget that they removed him from the Apple Store and that users should check thier accounts for fraudulent activity:

The developer Thuat Nguyen and his apps were removed from the App Store for violating the developer Program License Agreement, including fraudulent purchase patterns.Developers do not receive any iTunes confidential customer data when an app is downloaded.If your credit card or iTunes password is stolen and used on iTunes we recommend that you contact your financial institution and inquire about canceling the card and issuing a chargeback for any unauthorized transactions. We also recommend that you change your iTunes account password immediately.
