AT&T to Crack Down on Illegal Tethering Users

Recently AT&T announced that they were going to start throttling unlimited data plans, and it seems that another part of their movement is to also crack down on those illegal tethering users. This is again targeted towards iPhone users who have jailbroken their devices to allow tethering or to Hotspot off of AT&T’s unlimited data plans without paying for the 2Gb tethering service.

Samsung SCH-LC11 4G LTE Hotspot Review

Samsung Hotspot

The Samsung 4G LTE Hostspot is one of the 4G devices we saw at CES at the Verizon press conference. It is the Samsung SCH-LC11 hotspot which fully supports the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE and 3G networks. The hotspot supports up to 5 devices simultaneously and works similar to your home router. The LED lights on the top of the device tell you connection strength and which network you are connected to. For example a yellow light could mean that the signal strength is getting low while green is for a great signal. Read on for the full review.

Verizon 4G Mobile Hotspot available March 31

Looks like Verizon is now ready to release the 4G LTE hotspot that we saw earlier this year at CES and has eluded us till now. The 4G hotspot built by Samsung is available for order now at for $99.99 after a $50 mail in rebate as well as a 2-year commitment. The hotspot will be available in stores on March 31st.

The mobile package for the hotspot starts at a hefty $50 a month for only 5GB of data. With the fast speeds on the 4G LTE network from Verizon 5GB may not be enough.
