4K, 8K, The Future of TV?

Last fall, I was reading predictions for Black Friday sales, and many were saying that HDTVs would be a big sale item, because they were finally reaching market saturation. Prices have fallen to the several hundred-dollar range, and most people who want one, can get one. And indeed, Black Friday rolled around, and arguable the biggest sale item was Best Buy's 42" 1080p HDTV, for $200. That was the best deal, but there were over 50 over great ones, all below $400.

Sceptre Unveils First 3D HDTV with Integrated Blu-ray Player

Sceptre is a company that manufacturers LED and LCD HD televisions and PC monitors. Earlier today they announced their new 2012 lineup of HDTVs at CES 2012 and one of those products will be "the world's first 3D HD television with a built-in Blu-ray player."

Vizio to Jump into Consumer PC Business

Vizio is widely known for their HD television business, but now they will join the ranks of Toshiba, Sony, and Samsung in also making consumer PCs. Vizio's Chief Technology Office (CTO), Matt McRae, broke the news in an interview with Bloomberg that their company will announce 2 All-in-One desktop PCs - in 24-inch and 27-inch variants - and 3 different laptop models at CES 2012.
