Microsoft patents a Wired/Wireless controller for Xbox?

Now who wouldn’t want a controller for their Xbox that could switch between wired and wireless mode whenever you want. Microsoft has filed a patent for a Wireless and wired Xbox controller that can switch between both modes seamlessly without interrupting gameplay. An excerpt from the patent:

A game controller operates in both a wired mode and a wireless mode, and is able to switch between these two modes without permanent disruption to an ongoing game. During a transition from one mode to another, a host gaming system detects when the controller is physically disconnected (for wired mode to wireless mode) or connected (for wireless mode to wired mode). Upon detection, the host gaming system stores the game data and user information and establishes a new communication link with the controller. The host gaming system subsequently reassociates the game data and user information with the game controller as it begins operating in the new mode. This allows the player to continue game play without interruption.

First iPhone 4 Lawsuit against Apple and AT&T

First iPhone 4 Lawsuit against Apple and AT&T

With the recent news of the iPhone 4 reception issues and the less than adequate response from Steve Jobs to hold the phone differently, who would expect that someone would sue Apple. Well Kevin Mccaffrey and Linda Wrinn are doing just that, Gizmodo has gotten an exclusive, documenting the lawsuit in detail. I have tried to find this document on the web but have not been able to. Besides suing Apple, they are also taking it to AT&T as well. I honestly think that Apple should have investigated the issue further before issuing a response and taken responsibility for the problem instead of shifting blame. What do you think?

Here are some of the things covered in the lawsuit.

• General Negligence (APPLE and AT&T)
• Defect in Design, Manufacture, and Assembly (APPLE)
• Breach of Express Warranty (APPLE)
• Breach of Implied Warranty for Merchantability (APPLE and AT&T)
• Breach of Implied Warranty of Fitness for a Particular Purpose (APPLE and AT&T)
• Deceptive Trade Practices (APPLE and AT&T)
• Intentional Misrepresentation (APPLE and AT&T)
• Negligent Misrepresentation (APPLE and AT&T)
• Fraud by Concealment (APPLE and AT&T)

Rumor: CDMA iPhone ships to US

Rumor: CDMA iPhone ships to US

Today, a rumor has surfaced from DigiTimes that a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 is due to be shipped to Apple in the fourth quarter of this year. Now I personally do not believe in this rumor because Verizon had previously announced that they had no plan at this time to offer Apple products. Although the actual quote was:

Verizon Has No Plans for Apple Support in the “Immediate Future

Lets look at “Immediate Future” you know that could have been a hint that the Verizon iPhone is coming just not yet. Well in the fourth quarter when the rumor states the iPhone will ship, could be just the right time to announce a Verizon iPhone 4 before the holiday season. What do you think about these rumors and speculations about the Verizon CDMA iPhone?

Android 2.2 Froyo to get Wifi Tethering

The folks over at TechCrunch have written a post about their findings on the upcoming Android Froyo 2.2 operating system. They have highlighted that the new os will feature Wifi tethering. With Wifi tethering you will be able to use the 3G connection on the phone to share with your other Wifiready devices such as your laptop. With this feature being added to the Android OS will we expect to see it released in the near future for the iPhone? That would be the cherry on top.
