Confusion Surrounds PS Vita Pre-Order Options, Sales Plummet

With the release of Sony's PS Vita coming up, there are various pre-order options for consumers to ponder. The obvious options are a pre-order of either the WiFi or 3G/WiFi version of the Vita, and the additional option is the premium "PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle". The advantages of this premium bundle (at a premium price of $349.99) include the 3G/WiFi PS Vita, a limited PS Vita hard-shell case, a 4GB Vita memory card and a copy of the game Little Deviants. Gamers that order the PS Vita First Edition Bundle will also receive their console a week earlier than other pre-ordered systems and in consideration of that, a smattering of titles will be available on February 15 as well. Please note, however, that according to dates on Sony's official site, most of the games were already released in February of this year!

Verizon Confirms $2 New Fee For Online And Phone Payments

The above leaked photo of a Verizon Wireless memo shows the details of an impending new mandatory fee for credit/debit card payments made online and over the phone. Verizon Wireless has come out and confirmed that it will be adding the $2 "convenience fee" on the bills of customers who choose to pay their bill through the online website with a credit/debit card or those who choose to pay through their over the phone payment service.

Verizon Wireless Experiencing Nationwide Data Outage (Updated)

Verizon Wireless is currently experiencing a nationwide data outage with inconsistent reports. Some users are claiming both their 4G LTE and 3G EV-DO networks are down while others are only having 4G LTE down issues. Verizon Wireless network outages seem to be occurring more in 2011 than in past recent years and one can only wonder if the proliferation of smartphones, or more specifically iPhones, are to blame. Verizon Wireless is aware of the issue and says they are working to fix it, but there is currently no ETA on when the data services that have been interrupted across the nation will be fully restored as of yet.

AT&T Has Completed Acquisition of Qualcomm 700 MHz Spectrum

AT&T has completed its $1.9 billion purchase of 700MHz spectrum from Qualcomm. The spectrum was formerly utilized for the, now discontinued, FLO TV service. The spectrum is said to encompass nearly 300 million residents in the United States and would help AT&T bring their new LTE service to many markets. The Qualcomm spectrum licensing acquisition is definitely good news in a season of bad news for AT&T.

Can anybody else say "wowsers" to 3.7 Million new Android devices being activated in one weekend! Those numbers are straight from the tweets of Andy Rubin, Senior VP of Mobile at Google. Well it looks like Christmas weekend's Saturday and Sunday were not so average of a day for both Google and carriers alike.
