Sony PlayStation Store Taken Down in South Korea

Due to a new law going into effect in South Korea on July 1st, Sony will need to take down the PlayStation Store to comply. The new law is called the "Game Industry Promotion Act" which makes it illegal for online services to ask someone who is under the age of 18 to verify their account with their real name and age. Microsoft Annouces New Tablet, Surface

Microsoft Surface

Today, Microsoft held a mystery press conference in Los Angeles to announce their newest iPad competitor, the Microsoft Surface. Unlike their previous attempt at CES 2011 where they displayed a tablet PC running Windows 7, Microsoft has stepped up to the plate and delivered a real tablet running their soon to be released Windows 8 OS. While there are many benefits to this, one being a real reason why they are making Windows 8 so touch-screen versatile, there are also a fair share of reasons why this will ultimately fall flat similar to the Microsoft Zune.

Let’s Play DayZ Part 1 – Escape From Chernogorsk

DayZ is an ambitious mod of ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead where players control randomly spawned survivors and try not to fall victim to the zombie apocalypse. When you die you lose everything, your loot either being left out in the wilderness or added to your murderer's inventory. This brings out the worst in people, and in many cases players will shoot each other on sight to ensure their own survival.

Mod Junkiez Controllers Pushes Controller Customization

Ever since I got my Xbox 360, I've loved the controller. It's ergonomic and fits my hands almost perfectly. However, despite the great shape the colors and decoration options are limited. While Microsoft periodically releases specially decorated editions with big games, they are few and far between. Sadly, even the special edition controllers are only decorated differently around the case. If you'd like to change out buttons or the D-pad, you're out of luck.

E3 2012 – Core Blaze First Look

On the final day of E3, Gamania sent a shuttle to drive me from the convention center over to their headquarters in downtown LA to check out their upcoming title: Core Blaze. Given that the only previous showing of the game took place in Taipai, I was pretty excited. Yes the game is an MMO, and yes the MMO market is utterly saturated. However, Core Blaze has some feature that look to set it apart, including weather effects and it's usage of the Unreal Engine 3.
