Major Nelson has cleared the air about the reports of Microsoft stripping the Gloss off the Xbox 360 250GB consoles and going to matte black, similar to the 4GB models. He mentions that some news outlets were incorrectly reporting that there might be a choice between matte and gloss this holiday season, to which Major Nelson has confirmed is not true.
“We are actively transitioning all our Xbox 360 S consoles to a matte finish. The consoles will start to arrive in stores over the coming weeks, so if you really love the idea of a glossy console don’t wait much longer.” Major Nelson posted on his blog, “Of course, we still may offer a gloss finish on Limited Edition consoles like the upcoming Gears of War 3 Console or the Star Wars Console, but if you have your eye on a glossy black console you don’t have much time left.”
So for those who still want to have a sleek finger-print covered Xbox, hurry now before you lose your chance. Personally, I am fine with either gloss or matte, they both look better than the old elite systems ever did.read more
