Microsoft's biggest franchise is returning this fall with Halo 4. The first of a new trilogy, Halo 4 (and hopefully 5 and 6) will explore the Halo Universe's backstory; specifically, the Forerunners. In a lengthy gameplay demo shown during Microsoft's E3 press conference yesterday, we join the Chief in exploring a new world. The new game takes place four years after the war with the covenant. The UNSC is slowly beginning it's re-expansion across the stars. We follow the UNSC Infinity, a warship commissioned for the war against the Covenant and now repurposed for peaceful survey duties. On route unfortunately, the Infinity is hijacked by an unknown entity and ends up on an alien planet where the Master Chief just happens to be … convenient, right? As the ship comes in for a crash landing, we flash over to the Chief.

Press Release from Paradox Interactive below: NEW YORK — June 1, 2012 — Oh, were you planning to lay siege on that castle? Well, we have horses, so we’ll just seize it first; you can answer with steel if you don’t agree. Paradox Interactive today revealed new in-game footage for ambitious third-person game War of the Roses, a visceral team-based medieval combat title coming to PC in early fall. For the first time in full, glorious HD, aspiring knights can get a glimpse at the game’s mounted combat, and learn what it looks like when a gleaming battleaxe is headed their way at a thundering gallop. In addition to a healthy dose of skirmish on horseback, the new trailer and screenshots show off some of the variety available for players to customize their own knights. Swordsmen, archers, and combatants of all description will have a chance to express themselves through a large combination of appearance options, all before entering battle against other brave champions, both equestrian and footed, as they aim to raise their swords up high in victory. That is, of course, if they don’t join a largely homogenous pile of crimson-soaked corpses first. Full Video Inside.
