Personal Assistant by Pageonce

TekGoblin Reviews rating:

The Personal Assistant app for the iPhone by Pageonce is a must have. What’s so great about the Personal Assistant app? I’ll tell you. The app has tons of features to make your day easier. The Personal Assistant app allows you to access various different accounts and services that you may have. For Example you can see updates to your flights, bank accounts, credit cards, Netflix, Amazon.com, and more…

The app has an easy to use interface which allows for quick navigation to everything within. Another great feature of this app is that it allows you to do remote deletion of private account data via the Pageonce website if your phone or iPod is stolen. The app includes the following options:

  • Credit Card Control
  • Bank Account Status
  • Investment Portfolio
  • Cell Minute Tracker
  • Frequent Flyer Miles
  • Travel Itineraries
  • Shopping Management
  • Bill Management
  • Netflix Queue
  • Alerts

Manage accounts from accounts such as:

  • Bloomberg, Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Fidelity, United, Southwest, Comcast, AT&T, Blockbuster, Linkedin, MySpace, Facebook, Amazon, eBay, Skype, and thousands more.

The difference between the paid version and regular is, The paid version has no ads, refresh all accounts in one click, Real time flight information, exclusive personal pin number for added security.

I do recommend the Personal Assistant app if you would like to keep all of your accounts in one easy to use place for quick access. This app is also great if you are concerned with your private data, because it does allow data destruction upon theft of your device. If you are indeed concerned about your data and Pageonce, take a look at their privacy page here.

Who would have thought that someone would come up with a way to have a PowerPoint meeting over the iPhone. MightyMeeting lets you have that meeting anywhere you want to.

First you download the MightyMeeting App from the App Store or you can even view their WebApp without even installing the application on the iPhone. After launching the App you will be asked to either register or login for the first time. If you already have a MightyMetting account you can start viewing your presentations right away.

Once you have uploaded PowerPoint presentations online you can start meetings from your iPhone or iPod touch, and even the web, all you have to do is press the “Meet Now” button. Meetings can be initiated over the web, email invitation, or SMS. While in a meeting, attendees can chat in real-times via the chat interface while in a meeting.

MightyMeeting supports meetings over 3G and Wi-Fi as well as while you are in a call so you can be in a web meeting and deliver a voice presentation to go with it anywhere you are.

MightyMeeting presentations can either be kept private in your account or made public and posted via Twitter and Facebook as well as blog entries. MightyMeeting is definately a unique app and I do recommend it to anyone that does presentations often and travels frequently. With MightyMeeting, you can make your next conference call that much better by hosting a presentation from your iPhone.

ShopSavvy

The original barcode scanner that was available for mobile phones is now available for the iPhone. The app is called ShopSavvy and this is how it works. Find a barcode of one of the following types; UPC, EAN, or ISBN and scan it with the ShopSavvy app and it will then search the web for price comparisons. Not only will the app show you the lowest price but where to get it, and even where that business is located.

Now I tried this app on my iPhone 3G and had some issues with it. I noticed that you have to have near perfect conditions to get this to work with the 3G. For example you need to have adequate lighting available, also you must have no reflections on the barcode, and a well focused image. Now I did not try this with the iPhone 3GS, I am sure with it’s new auto focus camera, it should be able to make a clearer image of the barcode.

Otherwise this app performs very well once you get the scanning down. Try this app out and let me know what you think by posting a comment below.

This app is Free.

I love this app, it is like Buzzd but it has more! This app can find more places to go, an easy to use interface, and a feed that you can view without even searching. What is the feed? Well the feed allows you to see what people around you are talking about. You click on the feed and it immediately loads the most recent places that have been talked about in your area. Give Yelp a try, you wont be disappointed!

Zipcar features an easy to use interface that makes it very easy to use Zipcar services right from your mobile device.I believe the coolest feature of this app is to honk the horn of the Zipcar and even unlock and lock its doors straight from the mobile device.

Some of the cool features of Zipcar are:

  • Find available Zipcars on a map using your current location, favorite location or any location
  • Reserve a Zipcar any time, 24/7
  • Sort cars by time available, car type and model
  • View upcoming reservations

There is also cool stuff to do if you aren’t a Zipcar member. You can view locations of Zipcars in your area, and play with the virtual key fob in the app. Check it out and have fun!

Other reviews:

Some users of this application have posted and said that the app crashes often and loads slow, some other users have posted that the app does not always connect to the car. Many users have had no issues with the app so try it out and let us know your experience.

Ever wanted to take panoramic pictures with your iPhone? Or are you like wtf is a panoramic picture? Well here is the technical definition courtesy of Wikipedia:

Panoramic photography is a technique of photography, using specialised equipment or software, that captures images with elongated fields of view. It is sometimes known as wide format photography. The term has also been applied to a photograph that is cropped to a relatively wide aspect ratio. While there is no formal division between “wide-angle” and “panoramic” photography, “wide angle” normally refers to a type of lens, but this lens type does not necessarily image a panorama. An image made with an ultra wide angle fisheye lens covering the normal film frame of 1:1.33 is not automatically considered to be a panorama. An image showing a field of view approximating, or greater than, that of the human eye – about 160° by 75° – may be termed panoramic. This generally means it has an aspect ratio of 2:1 or larger, the image being at least twice as wide as its height. The resulting images take the form of a wide strip. Some panoramic images have aspect ratios of 4:1 and sometimes 10:1, covering fields of view of up to 360 degrees. Both the aspect ratio and coverage of field are important factors in defining a true panoramic image.

Still like wtf? Ok I will show you:

That is a panoramic picture. Well the PanoLab app on the iPhone lets you make beautiful panoramic pictures like the one above! Panoramic steps you through the process step by step to make is easy. After you launch the app, it asks you to tap the screen to add a photo to the panorama. After you have added enough pictures, the app will let you line them up next to eachother and stitch them together to form the panorama. Below are some screens of the App in action, remember this is the Free version, there is also a paid version that adds many more features.
