This morning while drinking a diet coke and trying to fully wake up, I was browsing the tech section of Google News and stumbled upon an article regarding Adobe’s new Creative Cloud. To summarize, the article discussed how unhappy Adobe customers are, about moving from a buy-once license that never expires to a subscription model. This comes after last week’s Xbox One announcement and the subsequent rumors about the lack of used-game support. It seems like there are quite a few software companies that are pissing off their user-base. Why is this happening, and is it all related? About a month ago I wrote an article about the controller modding company Mod Junkiez. They offer services ranging from changing out buttons to doing full paint jobs (vinyl + plastic technically). As impressed as I was with a quick glimpse and pictures, I really wanted to get my hands on one to test out, and the good folks at Mod Junkiez obliged.
The controller they sent me to review is a Halo themed controlled. It is based off the dark green body of the controller that came with the special edition Halo 3 Xbox 360. There is no custom decoration, but as you can see below, the AYXB buttons have been changed out for gray versions to match the theme, the D-pad has been switched over to the new version, and special grips have been added to the thumbsticks.read more
Like clockwork, every 6 weeks we see Firefox getting a refresh. Today was no different, with Firefox prompting users to update to the next version, 14.0.1. Like previous incremental updates, this provides several small graphical changes along with some under the hood improvements.read more
Halo 4 is coming, and just like it’s last two predecessors it’s going to have it’s own custom themed Xbox to match. Yesterday during Comic-Con, Microsoft unveiled the Limited Edition Halo 4 Xbox. As shown above, the bundle includes the Xbox 360, two matching controllers, a wired headset, and Halo 4 itself.read more
Have you ever seen those Visa commercials where everyone’s in line in a store; paying with Visa cards; moving along fine until some bungler decides to pay with cash? Cash?! What sort of idiot still uses such outdated and slow … oh wait, in the real world, paying with cash is normally even faster than paying with a credit card.
