Next Windows 8.1 Update Will Skip Start Screen

Many users have avoided Windows 8.1 due to its “Metro” interface that replaced the original start menu since Windows 7. With the new update it appears that you will be able to directly boot to the desktop rather than the Start Menu Metro Interface as seen above.

It appears that Microsoft may be backtracking their plans to have the Modern UI appear at boot. Now users will boot directly to the desktop rather than the Modern UI when entering Windows without making any settings changes with the latest update.

Other notable changes include the renaming of SkyDrive to OneDrive. The build was compiled on the 26th January 2014 at 8:42PM. Version  9600.16606.WINBLUES14_GDR_LEAN.140126-2042.
