Many iPhone 5 users have been anticipating the release of a battery backup case for the iPhone 5 from Mophie and it has finally arrived by the name of Helium. Consumers who signed their email up to receive news and updates regarding the product would have received an email today inviting them to a private 24-hour online pre-release purchase opportunity for the Mophie Juice Pack Helium for iPhone 5 before the official launch to the rest of the world. The new Mophie Helium for the iPhone 5 seems to be mostly comparative to the current iPhone 4S Juice Pack with slight changes in design and size to suit the slimmer profile and exterior features of the iPhone 5.
The Helium appears very slim, it boosts a 1500mAh battery, and is 13% thinner than previous generation Juice packs (Dimensions: 2.49 in x 5.49 in x 0.59 in). Mophie states users can expect to see talk time up to an additional 6 hours on 3G, internet use up to additional 6 hours on 3G, up to additional 6 hours on LTE, up to additional 7 hours on WiFi, audio playback up to 30 hours, and video playback up to 7 hours. The Helium is available for $79.95 and come in the 2 colors of Dark Metallic will be begin shipping on February 14th and Silver will start shipping in the beginning of March.
