Skype not compatible on low end Windows Phone devices

Skype has taken their Windows Phone application from beta and released their application into the Windows Marketplace. Skype has announced through their official blog, Skype Garage, that Windows Phone devices will require “a minimum of 512MB of memory to install and use Skype.” Users of Windows Phone devices such as the Nokia Lumia 610 and the ZTE Tania are going to be left out in the cold when it comes to using Skype. Looks like Windows Phone Tango devices will pretty much not be compatible with this application.

Bluetooth compatibility, voice notes, and Skype SMS messaging are still some of the features that are being worked on for a future update. Could this be the beginning of a storm of good application that will not be compatible for such memory limited devices? The future will tell.
