Verizon Shows Off 2 New Global Ready Jetpack 4G LTE Hotspots

Verizon Wireless has announced the release of 2 new 4G LTE enabled mobile hotspots here at CES 2012. Both hotspots are going to be branded as the Jetpack, even though one is made by ZTE and the other by Novatel Wireless. The ZTE Jetpack EuFi890 will feature a OLED display with an interactive keypad, weighs 4.7 ounces, and support up to 10 WiFi enabled devices. The Novatel Wireless Jetpack MiFi 4620L will also have an OLED display that will display battery life, security setting, and keep you abreast of any connected devices. and support up to 10 WiFi connected devices. Though there is mention of some called “Advanced integrated antenna technology,” that makes us wonder whether the antenna strength will be any better with the Novatel hotspot.

Expect data download speeds between 5Mbps and 12Mbps in 4G LTE coverage areas. Consumers will be happy to know that these Global Ready hotspots will work in over 205 countries.
