Microsoft debuted its second generation of Surface at CES 2011 and is now taking orders for it. The new surface table will cost you a solid $8,400 which is quite lower than the previous price of $12,500 for the first generation Surface. The newer version of Microsoft Surface is manufacturered by Samsung Electronics which allowed for Microsoft to take better advantage of newer touch screen technology. The Samsung version of Microsoft Surface is also much more thin than the first generation version of Surface.
The second generation of surface has specifications which include a 40 inch surface with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. The Surface comes with a Athlon X2 Dual-Core 245e (2.9GHz) CPU and a AMD HD6750M GPU. The system will run on Windows 7 64 bit edition with 4GB of DDR3 Ram and a 320GB hard drive.
Surface is available in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States. Initially unveiled by Samsung and Microsoft earlier this year, the Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface features PixelSense technology, which gives LCD panels the power to see without the use of cameras.

The Samsung SUR40 with PixelSense technology makes it possible for people to share, collaborate and explore together using a large, thin display.
