RIM Announces Blackberry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380

RIM has officially announced the Blackberry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 running Blackberry OS 7. If there is one thing Blackberry can do well, its cranking out hardware on last generation software. The Bold 9790 will have a 2.44-inch touch screen (480×360), running on a single core 1GHz processor, NFC, augmented reality support, and will include 8GB of internal memory with expansion as an option. The screen size will really be cramped and we believe may not be as enjoyable as one would think.

The Curve 9380 looks somewhat more appealing with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display(480×360), 5-Megapixel camera, NFC, and augmented reality support. RIM tells us the devices will be launching within the next few weeks, so we should see them available before Christmas even though they may miss Black Friday. One thing is for sure, these 2 smartphones will have plenty of steep competition once they release on any carrier.
