Barnes & Noble Launch New Nook Tablet

It was not that long ago that Amazon unveiled the curtains of their Amazon Fire tablet. Barnes & Noble was looking pretty boring all of a sudden with their hardware offerings. Well, Barnes & Noble has their own game plan with the announcement of their new Nook Tablet which succeeds the Nook Color. The Nook Tablet will be priced at $249 and is available for pre-order now, with shipments beginning next week.

The tablet will feature a 7-inch IPS display, up to 1080p video support, nearly 12 hours of battery life, and 16GB of internal memory (expansion slot for more). The press event shows that Hulu Plus and Netflix will be available for the device among many other applications that will really give other tablets some serious competition this holiday season. Barnes and Noble pit their new Nook Tablet against the Amazon Fire during their press announcement displaying how their device included more internal memory, more RAM, and a better display among other better features in comparison. The Nook Tablet will be $50 more expensive than the Amazon Fire, but its higher specs list could justify the price difference. Could this be a possible gift on your gift list this holiday season?
