BlackBerry Playbook Gets $200 Price Cut

It seems RIM has lowered the price of the BlackBerry Playbook similar to what HP did with the Touchpad. I would assume this move was made by RIM because of the lack of sales of their Playbook tablet.

The price has been lowered by $200 and can be seen at Staples with a $100 instant savings and $100 rebate. Staples lists the 16 GB Wifi version for only $299 down from $499. Office Depot has been also reported to carry the same deal.

Maybe RIM is lowering the price to be more competitive with Amazon and Apple so they can increase sales.
