Microsoft has been in talks with cable companies to bring more media to the Xbox 360. Today Digiday reports that Microsoft may be very close to signing a deal with Comcast and Verizon to stream content directly to the Xbox 360.
Microsoft is getting closer to Xbox TV launch and is looking for partnerships with Verizon Fios and Comcast. Users will be able to directly subscribe to Verizon Fios or Comcast packages right through their Xbox consoles.
Xbox and Microsoft are not new to the TV distribution world, last year they launched a partnership with AT&T U-verse service. Customers with AT&T U-Verse service would be able to watch TV right on their Xbox.
Sources indicate that the Comcast and Verizon Xbox deals are imminent, possibly a month. Xbox has the opportunity to bring another 55 million Xbox users streaming entertainment from Verizon and Comcast.
