AT&T Will Finally Launch LTE Network On September 18th

This upcoming Sunday AT&T will begin rolling out their LTE network for launch, according to AT&T CFO John Stephens while at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Entertainment & Communications conference.
The network will be on a 700 MHz spectrum and, according to AT&T representatives, offer real-world speeds “consistent with those that have been given by the top competitors.” So that means their network may rival or even surpass that of Verizon Wireless. But when will we start to see smartphones flood the market as Verizon Wireless has already been doing on LTE and Sprint has surpassed on WiMax. AT&T may have a lot more riding than we think on this proposed acquisition of T-Mobile and if it does not got through we may see a serious issue with their LTE deployment. In turn manufacturers may not manufacturer great devices for them as they have with Verizon and Sprint.
