Apple removes option for renting TV shows in iTunes

Apple has stopped allowing consumers to rent TV episodes through iTunes, allowing only the option to purchase the shows individually or with a“Season Pass” for a year’s worth of shows. Apple has stated that their customers prefer buying TV shows. But why get rid of the option for users to still enjoy an occasional rental if the so choose.

Apple could be making this move for a future push towards a subscription service similar to Netflix. We would love to see Netflix get some good competition to kick them back to reality.
