Samsung Galaxy S Phones Banned for Sale in Europe

Galaxy vs iPhone

Apple has scored a huge win against Samsung in its patent infringement suit. A preliminary injunction was just granted in Europe preventing the Samsung Galaxy Series smartphones from being sold in Europe which goes into effect October 13th. The ruling only affects the smartphones in the Galaxy S line and not the tablets.

A German court separately found that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was infringing on patents for Apple’s iPad as well. Sales of the 10.1 Tab were blocked in Europe initially but later revised to only apply to Germany.

This is a huge win for Apple since its initial suit against Samsung earlier this year.

I still don’t see the similarities in the devices, or even the OS. I mean, as long as their phones doesn’t have an apple logo on the back and the OS doesn’t have the same looking icons then no one is stupid enough to make the mistake between the two.
