Breaking: Earthquake on Eastern Seaboard

By now, you may have already heard about the 5.9 Earthquake that rocked the areas of Washington D.C. and Virginia. That earthquake was felt all over the eastern seaboard with reports from states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and even all the way down to North Carolina.

The quake also took out some telecommunications in New York and other areas which has since been restored. No news of any major damage as of yet.

I myself reside in one of those states and was shocked to feel my first earthquake. Initially I thought maybe there was some construction going on until I felt the walls and they were shaking as well. I immediately got up to here other complaining of the shaking. It was when I first turned on the news and checked twitter that I realized I had experienced an earthquake. There are reports of cellphone outages and some minor issues, but no major damage has been reported yet.

The early Earthquake Warning System could have been useful in the US.

Developing Story…
