Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr Hits Verizon With 4G LTE August 4th

Verizon Wireless has announced today that the Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr will be their first netbook with built in ability to operate on the 4G LTE network.  The netbook was previously announced at CES 2011 earlier this year and has finally made its way to release.

The netbook will release on August 4th on, no word on if or when it will be in stores. The netbook comes built with Windows 7 starter, 1.66 GHz Intel Atom, 250 GB hard drive, and 1GB ram. the netbook will cost $450 and it is unclear whether the price will be subsidized by 2-year contracts with data plans.

The netbook will adhere to the standard data plans available at Verizon currently as follows:

o $30 monthly access for 2 GB monthly allowance

o $50 monthly access for 5 GB monthly allowance

o $80 monthly access for 10 GB monthly allowance
