Apple TV gets new update

Just when you think the Apple TV has come to a stand still in device capabilities, Apple decides to release an update to the software. Today, Apple released an update to its Apple TV which pushes the existing features of renting shows to even more reach by enabling the purchasing of such content entirely. In addition to that, Vimeo, a YouTube like video uploading service has been added to the Apple TV catalog. We can only hope that this update and new attention to the Apple TV signals a possible 3rd generation in the future that may finally bring true 1080p HD playback instead of the 720p that we are limited to on the current generation.

Any purchases that you have already made will continue to be streamed to your Apple TV. The existing content such as Netflix, YouTube, MLB, and NBA streaming remains the same and untouched in the user interface.
