Ideum has released the technical specs on their $18,000 MT-55 Multitouch Table, making it the largest and thinnest multitouch table available. The MT-55 is equipped with a 55″ 1920×1080 HD tempered glass surface display that has a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio multitouch screen with a 178-degree wide viewing angle.
The MT-55 allows multiple users to collaborate on the table at the same time, supporting up to 32 simultaneous touch points. The MT-55 powered by an Intel Hyper-Threaded DualCore i5 (2.66 GHz) with the ability to upgrade to an i7 processor, sporting 8GB of RAM, and a 128 GB SSD, all on top of Windows 7 64-bit professional edition. The MT-55 is also equipped with WIFI, Bluetooth, and Ethernet connectivity and has multiple HDMI ports together with USB 2.o ports positioned on the side and hidden underneath the table. The main table structure is also constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum and cold-rolled steel. Making there not much left missing or to be desired aside from the $18,000 price tag.
The video below gives a good look at what this table has to offer, but I am curious to hear what you guys would do if you had one of these in your home.
I for one would be spending my time playing Fleet Commander.
