Student sells kidney to buy iPad

iPad 2 KidneyNow I have heard some strange stories before but this has got to be the funniest. A 17 year old student in Huaishan City, China sold his kidney to purchase an iPad 2. He could’nt afford the iPad 2 and was contacted by someone who offered him $3,000 USD or 20,000 yuan if he sold his kidney. He quickly accepted the deal and in no time he had an iPad 2.

“I wanted to buy an iPad 2 but could not afford it,” the boy, surnamed Zheng, told the Chinese language Global Times. “A broker contacted me on the Internet and said he could help me sell one kidney for 20,000 yuan.”

The hospital that did it in Chenzhou City was not even qualified to do the transplant so now the boy is feeling regrets. He later told his mom what had been done and she promptly called the police and the case is being investigated.

What I want to know is how he did this without his mother even knowing?
