After being down for almost a month, the PlayStation Network has started to return to life. Sony, has announced service restoration in progress for most of the world and services should already be back up in the US. When users try to log on to the PSN they will have to first download a firmware update to their PlayStation consoles before they can actually use the network. The firmware will update users to version 3.61 and will require all users to reset their network passwords which can only be done with the console it is registered to.
Sony has also stated that they have installed additional firewalls, additional warning systems, and other increased security on their systems. Check out the video below for more information.
Be patient, services are still being restored. [via:ubergizmo]
