With the recent breach of the PSN network by unknown assailants tensions have been high between PSN members and Sony. Now rumors have arisen on Twitter that those stolen 2.2 million possible accounts may be up for sale somewhere on the internet. The information up for sale includes First Name, Last Name, Address, Zip, Country, Phone, Email, Password, Date of Birth, Credit Card Number, expiration date, and CVV2 number. All of the information necessary to make fraudulent charges to users bank accounts and credit cards.
The person that reported this is Kevin Stevens a Security Researcher that claims the details were listed on a criminal forum. He however hasn’t seen the actual database of files but does believe it exists. If this news proves to be real, it will create quite the legal debacle for Sony. [Via: Kotaku, Source: Twitter]
