The Real Gmail Motion, and you thought the prank was ridiculous

Google had announced Gmail Motion on for one if it’s April Fools jokes this year. Well the crew from FAAST has created their own application for Gmail Motion and actually made it real.

FAAST actually connected the Kinect camera to a laptop, wrote up some software for it to interact with Gmail, and voila a user created version of Gmail Motion. They even went further and used the exact same motions that Google had said would work with Gmail Motion which can be found here. Of’course this technology would probably never actually be used in a practical sense with Gmail but it’s still pretty cool. You can also download the software right here if you want to give it a try.
