Looks like Netflix is having a little trouble with both their website and instant watching. Just a simple Google search for Netflix down returns many twitter results with users complaining about it. Trying to visit the Netflix site brings you only the following error with no other message on what the cause is at this time.
We’re sorry, the Netflix website and the ability to instantly watch movies are both temporarily unavailable.
However, our shipping centers are continuing to send and receive DVDs so your order is in process as usual.
Our engineers are working hard to bring the site and ability to watch instantly back up as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and, again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you need further assistance, please call us at 1-877-445-6064.
I am sure Netflix is doing their best to restore service as soon as possible and I am sure the interruption will not last long. Please let us know if anyone has any more information on the matter in the comments below. No update to when service will be restored, sources indicate that there has been issues since 6:30PM EST.
Looks like all streaming services are affected at this time, we will update you when they become available again. Looks like this also happened on 3/17 as well.
Update: Netflix has updated their message to include that shipping services are now down too.
We’re sorry, the Netflix website and our DVD shipping operations are temporarily down.
You can still instantly watch movies via your Netflix ready device.
Our engineers are working hard to bring the site and shipping operations back up as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and, again, we apologize for the inconvenience. If you need further assistance, please call us at 1-877-445-6064.
Update: Looks like the servers are back up, at least for me. 10:24 PM
