So you’ve decided that you are going to get an iPad 2 with 3G. Which wireless carrier do you choose and which one has the best data plan pricing. Lets take a look.
AT&T offers a 250mb data plan for $14.99 a month and a 2GB data plan for $25.00 a month. AT&T also offers 30 days free when you sign up for either plan up to $25.00 credit. Any data overage will cost an additional $10 per GB over.
Verizon offers 4 plans starting at $20 for 2GB of data, $35 for 3GB, $50 for 5GB, and $80 for 10GB data. An additional $10 applies per GB overage on any of the plans above 1GB, the base plan costs $20 overage per GB.
AT&T offers 2 plans to suit your needs which can be good or bad. If you are a heavy data user it could affect you negatively because of the overage costs. But if you aren’t a heavy data user AT&T could be the cheapest because 2GB of data is only $25 while 2GB on Verizon is an overage charge of $40. Verizon offers 4 data options that can suit small data usage and heavy data usage. In my opinion however the higher data plans are better on Verizon but for smaller plans stick with AT&T. Of’course you do need to look at the coverage area in your home town or where you will use the iPad 2 the most. So in the end it is really your opinion in which company to choose all I can do is give you the options above. Happy shopping.
