Skype 5.0 released for Mac, includes group video calling, new controls

Skype 5.0 has been released today for Mac and it available for download. The new version is more slimmed down to reduce the overall size, which Skype notes was one of their biggest complaints. With the reduction in extra white space, you can view up to 30% more contacts than with previous versions.

This version also supports Group Calling as part of Skype’s premium package. The Group Calling service will cost you $4.99 (€3.49/£2.99) for a day pass or as a monthly subscription for $8.99 (€5.99/£4.99) per month. New users to the service will receive a 7-day trial.

I do like this update, Skype looks much better and I will enjoy testing it out more. Check out the video from Skype below. What do you think of the update?
