Samsung is creating an iTouch competitor

Samsung just announced an iPod Touch competitor. This player is bases off it’s big brother the Galaxy Tab. Samsung’s PMP will be running Google Android OS 2.2 and will be unveiled next week at the CES 2011. The Froyo (Android 2.2) PMP will be based off the Galaxy Tab and Samsung cellular phones. The specs are as follows:

9.9mm thick
Android 2.2
4-inch Super Clear LCD screen supporting WVGA resolution (800×480)
T-DMB, SoundAlive audio enhancing technology
Bluetooth 3.0
3.2MP rear camera with front facing VGA camera for video calling
HD video playback
MicroSD card slot
Android Market and Samsung Apps access
1200mAh removable battery
8GB, 16GB and 32GB storage capacities

I think that this might be enough to compete with Apple’s iPods and Microsoft’s Zunes. I can see this becoming the number 1 or number 2 selling PMP globally if Samsung is able to market this product correctly. This might be a great upgrade for all of you iPod users who feel tied down due to iTunes and for all of you Zune users who feel left out of the app world.

I am in my senior year of high-school. My goal is to graduate college with a BS in Computer Engineering and move on to work for Microsoft. I have wanted to review product for a few years now but I never had a website to post them on. I started learning about computers was in 6th grade. Got my first computer. A Windows 95 system. And it all started from there.
