Blizzard working on next-gen MMO called Titan

It appears Blizzard has been secretly developing a new MMO called Titan. Titan is scheduled to be released somewhere around 4th quarter 2013 the same time as World of Warcraft’s 5th expansion. This data was revealed by a leaked Blizzard product timeline that covers the next few years.

According to GameSpot, after the 2010 VGA’s Blizzard executive vice president Frank Pierce spoke with gaming blog Destructoid confirming Titans is at the very least a working title for Blizzards new MMO.

“Titan is… the media is not meant to know anything about that,” Pearce said. “It’s our next-gen MMO, and we’ve only started talking about it in a limited fashion because we want to leverage the fact that we’re working on something like that for the purpose of recruiting–getting some of the best talent in the industry on that.”

The game is also not intended to be a competitor to World of Warcraft but an all new product with a little more broad appeal according to CEO bobby Kotick. We shall have to see if Titan will be as popular as WoW was, I can assume many WoW players will move to Titan as it is released.
