Geocities to be released in 900GB Torrent

The team over at ASCII has announced that they have a collection of all the Geocities sites that were even created. The team frantically started collecting Geocities sites shortly after Yahoo’s announcement that Geocities would be closing last year. They actually did this by faking a Googlebot user agent string to allow them to download the sites as fast as possible. Soon the team had pushed over 100 megabits a second to their archives.

The torrent file is a massive 900GB and will be available whenever they can get it up. The ASCII team is asking people that are interested to email to subscribe to a list that will let you know when it is downloadable. Geocities will live on FOREVER!
