Rumor: Apple testing new iMac touchscreens

Originally reported by Digitimes, manufacturer Sintek Photronics has discolosed that it has shipped iMac touch panels to Apple for testing purposes. Sintek has shipped approximately 20-inch capacitive touch panels to Apple recently for testing. Apple is most likely looking for a manufacturer to handle its new touchscreen Mac line. Sintek says that it is most likely to be chosen because it has the proper and most up to date technology available to manufacture the screens.

The recent rumor follows suit with Apple’s past patent appearances on the internet with the most recent being a 3D input touch panel for the new OSX. And further back a patent for a possible iMac touch and MacBook touch. It seems Apple is really pushing more towards the touchscreen technologies for all of its Mac computer lines.
