According to Businessweek Verizon will not carry Microsofts new Windows 7 phones until next year. Verizon states that they will most likely start supporting it in early 2011. The phones will most likely be on AT&T first then Verizon shortly after. Although Microsoft says that AT&T Inc., Verizon, T-Mobile USA and Sprint Nextel Corp. would support the new phones, but did not say when.
This news comes after the fact that Microsoft’s last attempt at a smartphone called the Kin had failed terrible on Verizon’s network. We will keep a watch out to see which network actually gets the Windows 7 phone first.
