Apple acquires Poly9, Google Maps competitor?

So Apple has been busy, it seems they have bought a company called Poly9. Poly9 owns a global mapping software similar to Google Earth but much more lightweight. Apple may be moving towards a Google Maps replacement for their iOS on mobile devices. As of right now all mapping is being done by Google on all of Apple’s mobile devices. With ever growing tension with Google I would expect this change to take place as soon as possible. The website for is already down and according to Engadget, all of the employees have already moved to California. We will keep an eye out for what Apple has planned for this acquisition.
