Skype is a great app for your mobile phone or program for those who use in on their personal computer. Skype allows you to make international calls, local calls, or national calls at very low rates. Skype also allows you to make calls for free to Skype to Skype accounts, and Skype accounts are too indeed free. For the purpose of this review I will be talking about Skype for the iPhone in particular.
After launching the app on the iPhone, you are greeted with the friendly Skype login screen. After entering your login information it will display your Skype contact list. You will need to be connected to a WiFi network to perform a call with Skype per AT&T network restrictions for the moment. Once on a WiFi network you can make either a standard phone call for which you will have to have money on your account or a Skype to Skype call with someone else that is online on Skype.
I have performed many calls with this app and the clarity of the calls are amazing, it actually sounds clearer than a normal house phone or even a cellular call. The App also keeps a profile tab so you can edit your Skype profile on the fly. There is also a log that keeps track of all of your calls and chats.
Here is an official list of features from Skype.com
